Dr Platon uses cold atmospheric plasma: an energised form of gas applied to the skin surface. It does not use needles or remove layers of skin.
Its plasma shower technology converts oxygen and nitrogen in the surrounding air into reactive particles. These can act on acne-associated bacteria and may help reduce surface inflammation.
Your treatment plan is selected after a skin assessment.
Generally well tolerated, without the need for numbing cream.
Normal activities can generally resume afterwards. Any sensitivity will guide your aftercare.
The plasma stage for a full face takes approximately 10 minutes; allow extra time for assessment and skincare.
Session numbers and spacing depend on your concern and response.
The main focus is blemish-prone and irritated skin.
May help calm inflamed blemishes and support management of excess oil. Persistent, painful or scarring acne also needs medical assessment.
May be considered as supportive care for selected redness and irritation. Rosacea, eczema and psoriasis require a diagnosis and an appropriate medical treatment plan.
Can be considered within a broader skin-quality programme. Your assessment will identify whether another treatment better addresses texture or pigmentation.
Treatment can be planned for suitable areas of the face or body, including areas affected by blemishes.
A straightforward treatment, with time to discuss your skin.
We discuss your concerns, skincare, medicines and relevant medical history. Tell your therapist about pregnancy, implanted electrical devices and any active skin infection so suitability can be checked.
Your skin is cleansed and the plasma handpiece is moved across the chosen area. Settings are selected for your skin and comfort.
You receive guidance on gentle skincare, sun protection and when to restart active products. Any accompanying treatment may have its own aftercare.
We review changes in your skin and adjust the plan. Progress photographs can help track blemishes and redness over time.
Designed to fit around everyday life.
Dr Platon is generally comfortable. Let your therapist know about any discomfort so the treatment can be adjusted or stopped.
There is usually no planned downtime from cold plasma alone. Temporary redness or sensitivity may occur, particularly with reactive skin. Contact the clinic if irritation persists or worsens.
Clear guidance before you book.
An early change in skin calmness or blemishes may be noticed after the first few appointments. We assess progress over a course rather than promise a fixed result after one session.
A course may be recommended for ongoing concerns. The number and interval are agreed after assessment and reviewed according to your response; there is no single course suitable for everyone.
Acne often needs ongoing management. Cold plasma may form part of your plan alongside suitable skincare or medical treatment. Hormonal, nodular or scarring acne may need a doctor’s assessment.
It is primarily considered for active blemishes and skin irritation. Established indented scars usually need a different treatment, such as microneedling or resurfacing, once active acne is controlled.
It may be considered as supportive care in selected cases after assessment. It does not replace prescribed treatment or a medical diagnosis. We will advise if your skin needs review by a GP or dermatologist first.
No. Cold plasma treats the skin surface without intentional tissue burning. It does not create the pinpoint crusts associated with thermal plasma pens and should not be presented as an eyelid lift or a substitute for surgery.
A combined plan may be appropriate after assessment. Your therapist will explain why each step is being recommended and whether it changes the aftercare or downtime.
The supplier describes use from age 12 with parental consent. Treatment availability at our clinic depends on an age-appropriate assessment, consent arrangements and clinic policy.
Suitability is assessed individually, considering your skin condition, sensitivity and pigmentation history. Tell us about recent treatments and any previous reactions.
Bring a list of your products and medicines. Your therapist will advise which products to continue or pause, and recommend a simple routine suited to your concern.
