Urgent concern after filler?

Do not use an online booking form.

Severe or increasing pain, pale, mottled, grey or dusky skin, or skin that feels unusually cool needs prompt assessment. Contact the practitioner who injected you immediately and call our clinic directly if you need help, including if you were treated elsewhere.

Any change in vision, severe eye pain, stroke-like symptoms, breathing difficulty or collapse: call 999 immediately. Do not travel to our clinic or wait for a callback.

Call the clinic: 07915 601 474Call to check immediate clinician availability. If you cannot reach us promptly, seek urgent medical care. This is not a 24-hour service.

The service

Can dermal filler be dissolved?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) filler can often be broken down with a prescribed enzyme after a medical assessment. This may be considered for an unwanted cosmetic result, migration, selected lumps, or a suspected HA filler complication.

The treatment depends on what was injected and what is causing the concern. Other fillers, including collagen biostimulators, do not respond to the same dissolving approach. We will assess whether dissolving, observation, another treatment or referral is most appropriate.

Two routes

Planned or urgent?

Planned correction: A consultation for persistent asymmetry, overfilling, migration or a result you no longer want.

Urgent complication: A same-day clinical decision may be needed if blood supply or another serious complication is suspected. Telephone the clinic; do not book a routine appointment.

Treated elsewhere? Yes, we can assess you. Please bring the product name, date, injection site and your injector's contact details if available. Do not delay seeking help to gather records.

01 / Reasons to seek advice

What can we assess?

A clear diagnosis matters: not every lump or swelling should be dissolved immediately.

Planned correction

Overfilled or uneven appearance

We assess the amount and position of HA filler, your original goals and whether a targeted correction or wider reset is appropriate.

Planned correction

Migration or a persistent blue-grey cast

Filler placed too superficially or appearing beyond the intended area may be suitable for correction after examination.

Medical assessment

Lumps, swelling or tenderness

These can have different causes, including inflammation or infection. Treatment depends on the diagnosis; an injection to dissolve filler may not be the first step.

Urgent assessment

Possible circulation problem

Disproportionate pain or unusual colour change after filler can signal impaired blood flow. This needs immediate clinical assessment, whether treatment happened here or elsewhere.

Important distinction: A planned cosmetic correction can be assessed at an appointment. Suspected vascular compromise is time-sensitive and must be raised by phone immediately.

02 / Your appointment

What happens during assessment?

Dr Yash reviews your history and examines the area before recommending any intervention.

01 / History

Understand the filler

We ask when and where it was placed, the product used, previous treatments, symptoms, allergies and relevant medical history. Records or product labels are helpful if you have them.

02 / Examination

Identify the concern

We check whether the issue relates to filler placement, swelling, infection, inflammation or compromised circulation, and whether further investigation or referral is required.

03 / Plan

Agree the next step

For a planned correction, we explain the options, medicine-related risks, likely appearance during recovery, possible repeat treatment and fees. An emergency follows a different clinical pathway.

03 / Planned correction & recovery

What should I expect?

These details describe non-urgent assessment and treatment. Emergency care is guided by the clinical findings.

During treatment

Comfort

If dissolving is appropriate, there are small injections into the selected area. They may sting. Dr Yash will discuss comfort measures and the possibility of an allergic reaction beforehand.

Afterwards

Swelling and bruising

Redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising can follow. The area may look uneven while swelling settles, so do not judge the final appearance immediately.

Review

One treatment may not be enough

Some HA fillers require further treatment, particularly where several products or layers have been placed. We review the response before deciding on more treatment.

Future filler

Allow the area to settle

If you are considering fresh filler, Dr Yash will first allow the tissue and swelling to settle and reassess whether replacement is appropriate.

Helpful answers

Filler correction FAQs

Can you help if another clinic did my filler?

Yes. We can assess patients treated elsewhere for a planned correction or an urgent concern, subject to clinician availability. For an urgent problem, contact the original injector immediately and call us directly; do not wait for an online appointment.

Can all fillers be dissolved?

No. This approach works for hyaluronic acid filler. The product used and the cause of the concern must be established before a treatment plan is made.

How quickly will a planned correction show?

Breakdown begins after treatment, but swelling can obscure the appearance for several days. We review the settled result and discuss whether any further treatment is needed.

Will only the unwanted filler be affected?

The treatment is planned as precisely as possible, but it cannot always remove one tiny portion in isolation. Surrounding filler and the appearance of the treated area may change.

Is a test always needed beforehand?

For a planned treatment, Dr Yash will assess allergy risk and discuss whether a skin test is appropriate. In a suspected vascular emergency, treatment decisions must not be delayed by a routine test.

What if my lump is infected?

Infection or an inflamed nodule may need a different sequence of care. Dr Yash will assess it and explain whether medication, investigation, referral or later filler correction is appropriate.

How much does it cost?

Planned assessment and treatment fees depend on the complexity and whether more than one appointment is needed. Fees are explained before proceeding. Urgent cases are assessed according to the clinical situation.

For non-urgent concerns

Talk to Dr Yash about a previous filler result

We will examine the area, explain the options and make a plan that fits your concern. If you have urgent symptoms, call the number above rather than using this booking route.
