The treatment

What is ClearLift?

ClearLift is a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser on the Harmony XL PRO platform. It delivers short pulses of energy below the skin surface without removing the outer layer.

Depending on the settings and diagnosis, it may be used in a skin-quality plan or to target selected pigmentation. Results develop gradually; a pigment diagnosis is essential before any laser treatment.

In brief

What to expect

The skin is cleansed and protective eyewear is worn. The practitioner passes the laser handpiece across the planned area. You may feel warmth or light flicks. A course is often recommended.

Personalised assessment: We review your medical history, skin, treatment area and any reasons to defer treatment.

01 / Concerns

What can ClearLift address?

The chosen settings and your skin type determine whether it is suitable.

Skin quality

Fine lines & texture

May support a smoother appearance and more even-looking skin quality over a course.

Tone

Selected pigmentation

Some benign pigment changes can be assessed for laser treatment. Melasma and uncertain lesions require a careful diagnosis and realistic discussion of recurrence.

Approach

Early skin change

A gentle option for patients who prefer a low-downtime course rather than resurfacing.

02 / Your plan

A course matched to your goal

A consultation determines whether ClearLift alone or another Harmony treatment is more appropriate.

Course

How many sessions?

A course of around three to six sessions, commonly spaced two to four weeks apart, is often suggested for skin-quality goals. Pigmentation, including melasma, needs an individual plan; we review your response before advising on further treatment.

Review

When will I see a difference?

You may notice brighter-looking skin within the first one to two weeks. Changes in tone, fine lines or texture are more often assessed after two to four weeks and tend to build through the course. The timing varies with your skin and treatment goal.

03 / Treatment & recovery

What happens at an appointment?

The treatment is non-ablative, but aftercare and sun protection still matter.

Comfort

During treatment

Most people describe warmth or gentle snapping. Eye protection is required and the settings are tailored to your skin.

Recovery

After treatment

Mild warmth or pinkness may occur. Avoid judging pigmented areas immediately, as their appearance can change before settling.

Safety

Skin preparation

We review sun exposure, tanning, medicines, active skin problems and prior treatments. A test patch may be recommended.

Protect

Aftercare

Follow the personalised advice and protect the skin from UV exposure, particularly if treating pigmentation.

Helpful answers

ClearLift FAQs

Is ClearLift painful?

Most patients find it manageable without numbing, although sensation depends on the settings and area.

Will I need time off?

Usually not for skin-quality treatment, but temporary redness or warmth can occur.

Can ClearLift help with melasma?

Yes, ClearLift can be considered for selected patients with melasma, usually alongside daily sun protection and a wider skin-care plan. Melasma is prone to recurrence, so we assess your skin and explain the expected course and risk of pigment change before treatment.

Can darker or tanned skin be treated?

Yes. ClearLift can be used for darker skin tones and may be an option for tanned skin. We still check how recent the tan is, the condition being treated and your skin on the day, then select appropriate settings or a test patch. Sunburned or irritated skin should be allowed to settle first.

How is it different from iPixel?

ClearLift does not remove the skin surface; iPixel is ablative resurfacing with a more visible healing period.
