Understanding your skin

What kind of redness are you noticing?

You may notice occasional flushing, a lasting colour across your cheeks, visible thread veins or red marks after acne. Your skin might also feel warm, sensitive or sore. We begin with an assessment so your plan fits what is happening in your skin.

01 / Flushing & sensitivity

Does your skin flush or feel sensitive?

A consultation helps us look at your symptoms and skincare. Gentle treatments may be considered as part of a wider plan.

02 / Lasting colour

Is the redness always visible?

Lasting colour across the cheeks or nose may need a different approach from occasional flushing.

Light-based vascular treatment

Dye-VL

Targets superficial blood vessels and may help reduce persistent facial redness or fine visible vessels.

What to expect: Brief warmth or a snapping sensation. Redness or swelling may be visible for a few days. More than one session may be needed.

03 / Visible vessels

Can you see individual thread veins?

The size and position of the vessels, along with your skin, help us choose between treatment options.

For selected facial vessels

Vascular laser

The Harmony XL PRO vascular laser targets selected visible vessels. We assess the area before recommending it.

What to expect: Brief warmth or a sharp sensation. Temporary redness or swelling is possible; a vessel may look darker before settling. Sessions vary.

04 / After acne

Red marks where spots have healed?

A flat red mark differs from an indented acne scar. If you still have active spots, we will consider those as part of your plan.

For selected red marks

Dye-VL

May help reduce persistent flat redness left after acne. It does not treat the indentation of a scar.

What to expect: Brief warmth or snapping. Redness or swelling may last a few days; session numbers vary.

Helpful answers

Frequently asked questions

Will treatment hurt?

Lumixa and LED are generally comfortable. Dye-VL and vascular laser may feel warm or like a brief snap.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the cause and extent of redness and the treatment chosen. We will outline a proposed course at consultation.

Will I need time off work?

Lumixa and LED usually involve little visible recovery. After vascular treatment, redness or swelling may be noticeable for a few days.

Will the redness come back?

It can. Rosacea may flare again and new visible vessels may develop. Gentle skincare, sun protection and knowing your triggers can help.

Is all facial redness rosacea?

No. Acne, irritation and other skin conditions can cause redness. An assessment helps us recommend the right next step.
