Understanding your goals

What would you like to change?

You may want a little more fullness, a clearer lip border or better balance between the upper and lower lip. Fine lines around the mouth are a different concern from lip volume. We assess both before recommending a plan.

01 / Shape and fullness

Would you like more volume or definition?

We look at your natural lip shape and discuss the degree of change you would like before recommending treatment.

Start here

Lip consultation

We discuss your goals, assess lip shape and balance, and ask about any previous filler. We explain what treatment can realistically achieve.

What to expect: No discomfort or recovery from the consultation.

Shape, volume and definition

Lip filler

A hyaluronic acid filler may add subtle fullness, define the lip border or improve balance. Amount and placement depend on your features.

What to expect: Brief injection discomfort. Swelling is common; tenderness, firmness or bruising are possible. The immediate appearance is not the final result.

02 / Previous treatment

Concerned about existing filler?

We assess the cause of the concern before discussing whether dissolving is suitable. Adding more filler is not always the answer.

Assessment first

Filler assessment & dissolving

Where appropriate, hyaluronic acid filler may be dissolved before considering any new lip treatment.

What to expect: A separate medical assessment and procedure. Discomfort, swelling, bruising or a reaction can occur; risks are explained before treatment.

03 / Skin around the lips

Fine lines around the mouth?

Lines in the skin around the lips are different from a lack of lip volume. Skin quality treatments may be more relevant than lip filler.

Fine lines and texture

Polynucleotides

May be considered for fine lines and skin texture around the mouth. The aim is gradual skin-quality improvement, not lip reshaping.

What to expect: Small injections. Temporary bumps, redness, tenderness or bruising can occur. Usually planned as a course.

Overall lower-face skin quality

Profhilo

May be considered when skin across the lower face looks less hydrated or firm, with fine lines around the mouth as part of a wider concern. It is not a lip filler.

What to expect: Injection appointment. Temporary raised areas, tenderness or bruising may occur. Normally planned as a course.

Surface skin treatments

Microneedling & resurfacing

Depending on the depth of lines and your skin, we may discuss a suitable treatment for the skin around the mouth.

What to expect: Sensation, downtime and sessions depend on the option selected and are explained before booking.

Adding volume to the lips will not necessarily smooth lines in the surrounding skin. We will identify which area you want to improve before recommending treatment.

Helpful answers

Frequently asked questions

Will lip filler hurt?

You may feel brief discomfort during injections. We explain the comfort measures available before treatment.

How much downtime should I allow?

Many people continue usual activities, but swelling can be noticeable at first. Bruising and tenderness are possible. Allow settling time before an important event.

How many appointments will I need?

Your plan depends on your lips and goals. Some people prefer a gradual approach; skin-quality treatments are usually planned as a course.

Will my lips look natural?

We discuss the shape and degree of fullness you would like, then recommend an approach that suits your facial features. We explain the likely result and limitations before treatment.

Can filler correct every asymmetry?

No. Natural asymmetry is common and not every difference can be corrected with filler.

What are the risks?

Swelling, bruising and tenderness are common possibilities. Fillers also carry less common but potentially serious risks, which we discuss before treatment.
